The Delta Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. develops leaders, promotes brotherhood and provides service and advocacy for our Orlando, FL community.

The Onward and Upward Movement continues through our diligent dedication to the Alpha national initiatives including: Project Alpha, A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People, and Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College.

The Young Men of Distinction Program focuses on developing young men along the following development dimensions: Academic, Leadership, Social, and Personal.

Attention is given to these principles through participation in monthly educational modules, social activities, fundraisers, community service and college tours. Program participants are eligible for scholarships to assist with future college expenses.

The Sylvester Taylor “Invictus” Hospitality Scholarship seeks to rewards students pursuing a career in the hospitality and food service industry.

All High School Seniors, Undergraduate, Trade School, and Graduate school students are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

The purpose of the Foundation is to promote, support, and instill in youth the values of high educational achievement, leadership, and community service. The Foundation provides academic, personal, leadership and social development to young men in the Metro Orlando area through the Young Men of Distinction Mentoring Program (YMOD).

The Foundation also provides funding for Academic Scholarships, Head Start to Literacy, Oratorical Competitions, and other educational and community service initiatives.

We strongly believe that by providing books and materials to Head Start programs in Orlando, specifically in underserved communities, we can help the Head Start teachers in creating a high-quality early childhood learning experience. These efforts enrich language and vocabulary development that will make the transition to elementary school more seamless.

As part of the Head Start to Literacy Initiative, the Delta Xi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and our Hankins / Johnson Education Foundation have presented over 1,000 books & supplies to multiple Head Start Programs as a part of their Lending Library, “take home” program designed to encourage parent participation.
