We chose to make the Wine & Cheese Experience a semi-formal event so our guests will have a wide range of choices to express their style and personality. We encourage creative use of colors, cuts, and accessories.

Outfit options include but are not limited to: suits, blazers, button-down shirts, dress pants, and dress shoes for men or jumpsuits, tea dresses, and knee-length dresses for women.

The Wine & Cheese Experience will feature a variety of fun, games and entertainment.

DJ Andre Mack & DJ Intel will get the party going upstairs by spinning your favorite hip-hop, R&B, Reggae and Old School classics.

A curated selection of some of your favorite jazz, neo-soul and R&B songs will also play throughout the venue.

The Wine & Cheese Experience will also include a Monte Carlo Night hosted by CRB Entertainment that will feature Blackjack, Roulette and Craps tables. At the end of the night, guests will turn in their chips in exchange for raffle tickets. The tickets are then placed in a raffle drum where winning prize tickets are drawn.

The Wine & Cheese Experience is a great way to experience the 50+ wines that the Island Grove Wine Company has to offer. It allows you to have small glasses of a variety of different types and flavors of wines which can help you determine which you may want to take home with you.

By using the 5 S’s (see, swirl, sniff, sip, and savor), you’ll be able to get the most out of any glass of wine.

Need to know which wine to serve with cheddar? Is port the only thing that goes with Stilton? Our on site Sommelier will educate guests on pairing your favorite wines with cheeses and other foods.

Through our Hankins / Johnson Education Foundation, we awarded $35,000 in scholarships this academic year. We delivered over one thousand (1,000) books and large quantities of supplies to four head start centers in Orange County. We are striving to exceed that support this year. Our Foundation has awarded over $385,000 in college scholarships, sponsored 400+ YMODs, and supported Scouting and other programs to benefit youth in the Central Florida community.

The Onward and Upward Movement continues through our diligent dedication to the Alpha Phi Alpha national initiatives including: Project Alpha, A Voteless People Is A Hopeless People, and Go-to-High-School, Go-to-College.

COMMEMORATION

The Wine & Cheese Experience is dedicated to our beloved Brother Sylvester “Sly” Taylor who passed away in 2021. Brother Taylor was initiated into the Iota Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha at Florida State University.

Brother Taylor had over 40 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry, with 28 of those years spent at Walt Disney World Resort in Hospitality. His most rewarding roles were Certified Meeting Planner and Wine Sommelier in Convention Services.

His love of wine and hospitality led to him starting the wine and cheese experience over 15 years ago.

To honor his legacy, the Taylor family launched the Sylvester Taylor Invictus Hospitality Scholarship. Named after his favorite poem, the scholarship seeks to reward High School Seniors, Undergraduate, Trade School, and Graduate school students who are pursuing a career in the hospitality and food service industry.

A portion of the proceeds from The Wine & Cheese Experience will help award more scholarships to deserving students.

The Delta Xi Lambda Chapter Of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was established in December 1953 in Orlando, FL. Our purpose is to develop leaders, promote brotherhood and provide service and advocacy for our Orlando, FL community.

We strive to stimulate the ambition of our members; to prepare them for the greatest usefulness in the causes of humanity, freedom, and dignity of the individual; to encourage the highest and noblest form of manhood; and to aid down-trodden humanity in its efforts to achieve higher social, economic and intellectual status.

Through our education foundation we promote, support, and instill in youth the values of high educational achievement, leadership and community service. We also provide academic, personal, leadership and social development to young men in the Metro Orlando area through the Young Men of Distinction Male Mentoring Program (YMOD).
